RNDr. Pavel Pro\u0161ek, CSc.<\/strong>\u00a0(*1940), v\u00fdznamn\u00e1 osobnost na\u0161\u00ed fyzick\u00e9 geografie, p\u016fsob\u00ed jako emeritn\u00ed profesor Masarykovy univerzity v Geografick\u00e9m \u00fastavu jej\u00ed P\u0159\u00edrodov\u011bdeck\u00e9 fakulty. T\u011b\u017ei\u0161t\u011b jeho v\u00fdzkumn\u00e9ho z\u00e1jmu ji\u017e v\u00edce ne\u017e p\u016fl stolet\u00ed tkv\u00ed v klimatologii a ekologii, a teritori\u00e1ln\u011b p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm v pol\u00e1rn\u00edch oblastech. Vystudoval biologii a geografii na P\u0159\u00edrodov\u011bdeck\u00e9 fakult\u011b Univerzity J. E. Purkyn\u011b v Brn\u011b \u00a0(dnes Masarykovy univerzity), kde a\u017e do roku 2017 p\u016fsobil jako profesor klimatologie a v obdob\u00ed 1994\u20132005 tak\u00e9 jako \u0159editel Geografick\u00e9ho \u00fastavu. I v sou\u010dasnosti jako emeritn\u00ed profesor pravideln\u011b na Geografick\u00fd \u00fastav doch\u00e1z\u00ed a zaj\u00edm\u00e1 se p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm o svoji zamilovanou Antarktidu a ve\u0161ker\u00e9 aktivity prob\u00edhaj\u00edc\u00ed v r\u00e1mci \u010cesk\u00e9ho antarktick\u00e9ho v\u00fdzkumn\u00e9ho \u00a0programu.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Hlavn\u00ed oblast\u00ed v\u011bdeck\u00e9ho i pedagogick\u00e9ho z\u00e1jmu Pavla Pro\u0161ka v\u017edy byla klimatologie s u\u017e\u0161\u00edm zam\u011b\u0159en\u00edm na pol\u00e1rn\u00ed oblasti. V \u010desk\u00e9 geografick\u00e9 a v\u011bdeck\u00e9 obci obecn\u011b se zapsal p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm jako zakladatel \u010desk\u00e9ho antarktick\u00e9ho v\u00fdzkumu a v\u011bdeck\u00e9 stanice J. G. Mendela na ostrov\u011b Jamese Rosse u Antarktick\u00e9ho poloostrova. Stanice slou\u017e\u00ed od roku 2007 a poskytuje z\u00e1zem\u00ed v\u011bdc\u016fm z \u010desk\u00fdch i zahrani\u010dn\u00edch instituc\u00ed, kter\u00fdch se na n\u00ed za dobu jej\u00edho fungov\u00e1n\u00ed vyst\u0159\u00eddalo ji\u017e t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 150. Jej\u00edm vybudov\u00e1n\u00edm se \u010cesko za\u0159adilo mezi vysp\u011bl\u00e9 st\u00e1ty sv\u011bta pod\u00edlej\u00edc\u00ed se na v\u00fdzkumu ledov\u00e9ho kontinentu a v roce 2014 se stala prozat\u00edm nejmlad\u0161\u00edm 29. konzultativn\u00edm \u010dlenem Antarktick\u00e9 smlouvy.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">V roce 2017 organizoval \u010cesk\u00fd antarktick\u00fd v\u00fdzkumn\u00fd program pod veden\u00edm Pavla Pro\u0161ka zased\u00e1n\u00ed Rady mana\u017eer\u016f n\u00e1rodn\u00edch antarktick\u00fdch program\u016f (COMNAP), na kter\u00e9m se Pavel Pro\u0161ek rozlou\u010dil s mezin\u00e1rodn\u00ed komunitou a mnoha p\u0159\u00e1teli, kter\u00e9 si za l\u00e9ta p\u016fsoben\u00ed v antarktick\u00e9m prost\u0159ed\u00ed z\u00edskal. P\u0159esto v\u0161ak m\u011bl mo\u017enost se s mnoh\u00fdmi z nich op\u011bt setkat, a to v \u010dervenci 2019, kdy se v Praze konalo konzultativn\u00ed zased\u00e1n\u00ed spole\u010denstv\u00ed st\u00e1t\u016f Antarktick\u00e9 smlouvy (ATCM), nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed sv\u011btov\u00e1 ka\u017edoro\u010dn\u00ed akce t\u00fdkaj\u00edc\u00ed se Antarktidy, na kter\u00e9 se rozhoduje o ve\u0161ker\u00fdch sou\u010dasn\u00fdch a budouc\u00edch aktivit\u00e1ch na tomto kontinentu. \u010cesk\u00e1 republika je dnes i d\u00edky v\u00fd\u0161e uveden\u00fdm skute\u010dnostem respektovan\u00fdm st\u00e1tem s plnohodnotn\u00fdm antarktick\u00fdm v\u00fdzkumn\u00fdm programem, kter\u00fd ch\u00e1pe svou \u00falohu v ochran\u011b ledov\u00e9ho kontinentu pro p\u0159\u00ed\u0161t\u00ed generace. Bez soustavn\u00e9 dlouhodob\u00e9 aktivity Pavla Pro\u0161ka by se tyto ud\u00e1losti nikdy nestaly realitou.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Nep\u0159ehl\u00e9dnuteln\u00fd je tak\u00e9 v\u011bdeck\u00fd p\u0159\u00ednos Pavla Pro\u0161ka v oblasti p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00edch v\u011bd i jeho celo\u017eivotn\u00ed pedagogick\u00e1, publika\u010dn\u00ed a osv\u011btov\u00e1 \u010dinnost. Byl vedouc\u00edm autorsk\u00e9ho kolektivu monografie Antarktida (2013) vydan\u00e9 v nakladatelstv\u00ed Academia, doposud nejobs\u00e1hlej\u0161\u00ed v \u010de\u0161tin\u011b vydan\u00e9 knihy shrnuj\u00edc\u00ed poznatky o ledov\u00e9m sv\u011btad\u00edlu. V publika\u010dn\u00ed aktivit\u011b a popularizaci informac\u00ed o nejji\u017en\u011bj\u0161\u00edm kontinentu pokra\u010duje dodnes. Pavel Pro\u0161ek je tak\u00e9 prezidentem \u010cesk\u00e9ho antarktick\u00e9ho nada\u010dn\u00edho fondu, kter\u00fd byl zalo\u017een na podporu \u010desk\u00fdch v\u00fdzkum\u016f a propagaci nejvzd\u00e1len\u011bj\u0161\u00edho a nejm\u00e9n\u011b prob\u00e1dan\u00e9ho kontinentu. Oslavenec se v posledn\u00edch letech do\u010dkal mnoha ocen\u011bn\u00ed. V roce 2015 obdr\u017eel od prim\u00e1tora Ing. Petra Vok\u0159\u00e1la Cenu m\u011bsta Brna v oblasti p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00edch v\u011bd. Ve stejn\u00e9m roce obdr\u017eel tak\u00e9 St\u0159\u00edbrnou medaili Masarykovy univerzity. Vystudoval biologii a geografii na P\u0159\u00edrodov\u011bdeck\u00e9 fakult\u011b dne\u0161n\u00ed Masarykovy univerzity, kde v sou\u010dasnosti p\u016fsob\u00ed jako profesor na Geografick\u00e9m \u00fastavu. Hlavn\u00ed oblast\u00ed jeho v\u011bdeck\u00e9ho i pedagogick\u00e9ho z\u00e1jmu je klimatologie s u\u017e\u0161\u00edm zam\u011b\u0159en\u00edm na pol\u00e1rn\u00ed oblasti. Jeho nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00edm profesn\u00edm \u00fasp\u011bchem je vybudov\u00e1n\u00ed \u010desk\u00e9 v\u011bdeck\u00e9 stanice Johanna Gregora Mendela v Antarktid\u011b. Z\u00e1kladna slou\u017e\u00ed od roku 2007 a poskytuje z\u00e1zem\u00ed v\u011bdc\u016fm z \u010desk\u00fdch i zahrani\u010dn\u00edch univerzit a v\u00fdzkumn\u00fdch \u00fastav\u016f.
