Otec podporoval jeho sklon k p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00edm v\u011bd\u00e1m do t\u00e9 m\u00edry, \u017ee p\u016fvodn\u011b kon\u00ed\u010dek z ml\u00e1d\u00ed se stal jeho povo\u00adl\u00e1n\u00edm. Meteorologie v\u0161ak nebyla jeho jedin\u00e1 z\u00e1liba, byla tu je\u0161t\u011b hudba. V roce 1950 po obh\u00e1jen\u00ed diserta\u010dn\u00ed pr\u00e1ce a slo\u017een\u00ed rigor\u00f3zn\u00edch zkou\u0161ek z\u00edsk\u00e1v\u00e1 na Karlov\u011b universit\u011b v Praze hodnost RNDr.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Do slu\u017eeb Hydrometeorologick\u00e9ho \u00fastavu vstupuje Dr. Gregor ji\u017e p\u0159ed ukon\u010den\u00edm vysoko\u0161kolsk\u00e9ho studia dne 2. 1. 1948. Za 20 let sv\u00e9ho p\u016fsoben\u00ed zde pro\u0161el prakticky v\u0161emi odborn\u00fdmi pracovi\u0161ti Synoptick\u00e9 a leteck\u00e9 slu\u017eby. Pracoval v synoptick\u00e9 meteorologick\u00e9 slu\u017eb\u011b, leteck\u00e9 meteorologick\u00e9 slu\u017eb\u011b, v aerologick\u00e9m odd\u011blen\u00ed i ve v\u00fdzkumu. Mimo to v letech 1960\u201461 pom\u00e1hal organizovat synoptickou a leteckou slu\u017ebu v Guinejsk\u00e9 republice. V roce 1968 byl pro sv\u00e9 odborn\u00e9 znalosti a bohat\u00e9 praktick\u00e9 zku\u0161enosti v cel\u00e9 synoptick\u00e9 meteorologii jmenov\u00e1n vedouc\u00edm synop\u00adtick\u00e9 slu\u017eby HM\u00da.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Dr. Gregor byl sv\u00fdm odborn\u00fdm zam\u011b\u0159en\u00edm ryz\u00ed synoptik. Mohlo by se \u0159\u00edci, \u017ee pat\u0159il ke klasick\u00e9 norsk\u00e9 \u0161kole, v\u017edy\u0165 sv\u00e9 prvn\u00ed znalosti meteorologie z\u00edskal z u\u010debnic Chromov\u00e1 a Swobody. Synoptick\u00e1 mapa a front\u00e1ln\u00ed anal\u00fdza byly st\u011b\u017eejn\u00edm bodem jeho \u010dinnosti. Po\u010das\u00ed nesledoval jen z mapy, byl s n\u00edm spojen jak v pr\u00e1ci, tak i doma. N\u011bkolik z\u00e1kladn\u00edch meteorolo\u00adgick\u00fdch p\u0159\u00edstroj\u016f doma a v\u00fdhled na oblohu mu umo\u017e\u0148ovaly v meteorologii p\u0159\u00edmo \u017e\u00edt. M\u011bl abnorm\u00e1ln\u00ed pam\u011b\u0165 na pov\u011btrnostn\u00ed situace a tak ze sv\u00e9ho archivu, kter\u00fd nosil v hlav\u011b, vytahoval \u010dasto analogy des\u00edtky let star\u00e9. Hlavn\u00edm p\u0159edm\u011btem jeho v\u011bdeck\u00e9ho b\u00e1d\u00e1n\u00ed bylo studium v\u0161eobecn\u00e9 cirkulace, sledov\u00e1n\u00ed front\u00e1ln\u00ed z\u00f3ny b\u011bhem roku a studium pov\u011btrnostn\u00edch situac\u00ed, jejich typizace a analogi\u010dnost. V\u0161echny z\u00edskan\u00e9 po\u00adznatky se sna\u017eil aplikovat p\u0159\u00edmo v progn\u00f3zn\u00ed praxi. Z tohoto oboru sv\u00e9 \u010dinnosti publikoval \u010detn\u00e9 pr\u00e1ce.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Vzpom\u00edn\u00e1me-li na Dr. Gregora, mus\u00edme si uv\u011b\u00addomit i jeho lidsk\u00e9 vlastnosti. Jeho usm\u011bvav\u00e1, klidn\u00e1 povaha, kter\u00e1 nen\u00e1vid\u011bla h\u00e1dky a roz\u010dilen\u00e9 debaty, mu p\u0159inesla velkou oblibu.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Dr. Gregor ode\u0161el v 45 letech, na vrcholu \u017eivota, vybaven zku\u0161enostmi a znalostmi, pln\u00fd pl\u00e1n\u016f jak organiza\u010dn\u00edch, tak odborn\u00fdch. Chystal se, to co po l\u00e9ta st\u0159\u00e1dal a na \u010dem pracoval, v\u011bnovat zdokonalen\u00ed synoptick\u00e9 slu\u017eby.
