Ale\u0161 Gottwald pat\u0159il k nemnoha moder\u00adn\u00edm klimatologi\u00edm, kter\u00e9 vychoval prof. Dr. A. Gregor. Z jeho popudu se t\u00e9\u017e v\u011bnoval klimatografii Prahy a z vlastn\u00ed iniciativy systematicky studoval uplatn\u011bn\u00ed regresivn\u00edch sta\u00adtistick\u00fdch metod v klimatologii. Stal se na\u0161\u00edm p\u0159edn\u00edm znal\u00adcem v oblasti klimatologick\u00fdch aplikac\u00ed teorie empirick\u00fdch z\u00e1kon\u016f rozlo\u017een\u00ed a v praxi prokazoval citlivou znalost sou\u00advislost\u00ed mezi teori\u00ed pravd\u011bpodobnosti a statistikou. Ale\u0161 Gottwald vysoce oce\u0148oval teorii, ale rozhoduj\u00edc\u00ed pro n\u011bho bylo v\u017edy kritick\u00e9 posouzen\u00ed, je-li teorie v souhlasu s pozorov\u00e1n\u00edm. Ot\u00e1zku z\u00e1vislosti mezi jevy a veli\u010dinami se v\u017edy sna\u017eil \u0159e\u0161it z hlediska mo\u017enosti \u010d\u00edseln\u00e9ho, nikoliv modelov\u00e9ho vyj\u00e1d\u0159en\u00ed stupn\u011b t\u00e9to z\u00e1\u00advislosti.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Po n\u00e1stupu dru\u017eicov\u00e9 meteorologie reagoval A. Gottwald pohotov\u011b na nov\u00e9 objevy, kter\u00e9 v podob\u011b dru\u017eicov\u00fdch sn\u00edm\u00adk\u016f obla\u010dnosti zviditelnily dynamiku cyklon. Provedl z\u00e1sadn\u00ed rozbory geometrie spir\u00e1ln\u00edch obla\u010dn\u00fdch syst\u00e9m\u016f st\u0159edn\u00edch a vy\u0161\u0161\u00edch zem\u011bpisn\u00fdch \u0161\u00ed\u0159ek. V \u00daFA byl inici\u00e1torem denn\u00ed\u00adho p\u0159\u00edjmu dru\u017eicov\u00fdch sn\u00edmk\u016f. Tuto \u010dinnost vykon\u00e1val a\u017e do posledn\u00edch dn\u016f sv\u00e9ho \u017eivota. Byl autorem n\u011bkolika ka\u00adpitol z p\u0159ipravovan\u00e9 knihy o dru\u017eicov\u00e9 meteorologii. Jeho p\u0159\u00ednos pro rozvoj kosmick\u00e9ho v\u00fdzkumu v r\u00e1mci programu Interkosmos byl ocen\u011bn zlatou pam\u011btn\u00ed medail\u00ed \u010cSAV.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Detailn\u00ed dlouhodob\u00e1 znalost obla\u010dn\u00fdch pol\u00ed nad Evropou, op\u00edraj\u00edc\u00ed se o ka\u017edodenn\u00ed pr\u00e1ci s p\u0159ij\u00edmac\u00ed aparaturou, vedla k p\u0159\u00edprav\u011b rozs\u00e1hl\u00e9 pr\u00e1ce o souvislosti t\u011bchto pol\u00ed se slu\u00adne\u010dn\u00ed aktivitou. P\u0159edb\u011b\u017en\u00e9 v\u00fdsledky A. Gottwald zapracoval do v\u00fdzkumn\u00fdch zpr\u00e1v, choroba mu v\u0161ak znemo\u017enila formu\u00adlovat definitivn\u00ed z\u00e1v\u011bry.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Pod\u00edlel se v\u00fdznamnou m\u011brou jako \u010dlen autorsk\u00e9ho ko\u00adlektivu na tvorb\u011b Meteorologick\u00e9ho slovn\u00edku v\u00fdkladov\u00e9ho a terminologick\u00e9ho a takt\u00e9\u017e na jeho recenzi.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">\u010cestn\u00e9 uzn\u00e1n\u00ed za z\u00e1sluhy v oboru meteorologie, kter\u00e9 A.
