Pana docenta Ba\u0165ku jsem poznal v roce 1961 ve V\u00fdpo\u010det\u00adn\u00ed laborato\u0159i Ministerstva dopravy v Ol\u0161ansk\u00e9 ulici. Spole\u011bn\u011b s J. Vocetkou n\u00e1m byl p\u0159id\u011blen jako program\u00e1tor pro sestave\u00adn\u00ed baroklinn\u00edho modelu Sawyerova a Bushbyova pro pot\u0159eby \u010cHM\u00da. Programov\u00e1n\u00ed bylo obt\u00ed\u017en\u00e9, proto\u017ee na po\u010d\u00edta\u010di URAL II se pracovalo pouze se strojov\u00fdm k\u00f3dem. RNDr. Michal Ba\u0165ka, DrSc. se narodil 8. \u0159\u00edjna 1936 v Praze. Maturoval v roce 1955 a Matematicko-fyzik\u00e1ln\u00ed fakultu Univerzity Karlovy (MFF UK) ukon\u010dil v roce 1960. P\u011bt let, jak jsem ji\u017e uvedl, pracoval u po\u010d\u00edta\u010de ve V\u00fdpo\u010detn\u00ed laborato\u0159i. Od roku 1965 na MFF UK v centru numerick\u00e9 matematiky. Jubilant se zab\u00fdval st\u00e1le baroklinn\u00edmi modely a logicky p\u0159e\u0161el v roce 1974 na Katedru meteorologie a kli\u00admatologie MFF UK. Pod veden\u00edm prof. S. Brandejse a ve spo\u00adlupr\u00e1ci s O. Zikmundou a J. Kop\u00e1\u010dkem \u0159e\u0161il \u0159adu v\u00fdzkum\u00adn\u00fdch \u00faloh z oblasti numerick\u00fdch p\u0159edpov\u011bdn\u00edch metod. Uve\u00addu pouze geostroficky aproximovan\u00fd baroklinn\u00ed model na b\u00e1zi vorticity a omega rovnice. V Mar\u010dukov\u011b metod\u011b \u0161t\u011bpen\u00ed odhalil \u0159adu z\u00e1sadn\u00edch nedostatk\u016f. Anal\u00fdze metody \u0161t\u011bpen\u00ed a zp\u016fsob\u016fm odstra\u0148ov\u00e1n\u00ed zji\u0161t\u011bn\u00fdch chyb v\u011bnoval pozd\u011bji svoji dizerta\u010dn\u00ed pr\u00e1ci. Kandid\u00e1tem v\u011bd se stal v roce 1970 a 1. \u010dervna 1984 byl jmenov\u00e1n docentem pro obor p\u0159ibli\u017en\u00e9 a numerick\u00e9 matematiky.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">V\u0161echny modelov\u00e9 experimenty po\u010d\u00edtal ve spolupr\u00e1ci S \u010cHM\u00da na po\u010d\u00edta\u010di ICT (nyn\u00ed ICL) v \u010cKD. Krom\u011b v\u011bdeck\u00e9 a publika\u010dn\u00ed pr\u00e1ce p\u0159edn\u00e1\u0161\u00ed od sam\u00e9ho za\u010d\u00e1tku pro poslucha\u00ad\u010de meteorologie a klimatologie programov\u00e1n\u00ed a matematiku pro fyziky, vede semin\u00e1\u0159e, diplomov\u00e9 a pozd\u011bji kandid\u00e1tsk\u00e9 a doktorandsk\u00e9 pr\u00e1ce.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Od roku 1961 nep\u0159etr\u017eit\u011b spolupracuje s CHM\u00da na v\u00fdvo\u00adji v\u0161ech model\u016f, metod objektivn\u00ed anal\u00fdzy a automatick\u00e9ho zpracov\u00e1n\u00ed dat. V roce 1979 byl na st\u00e1\u017ei v Kodani, kde se sezn\u00e1mil s B. Machenhauerem. V r\u00e1mci spolupr\u00e1ce Katedry meteorologie a klimatologie MFF UK s \u010cHM\u00da, vypracoval doc. Ba\u0165ka modern\u00ed hydrodynamick\u00fd p\u0159edpov\u011bdn\u00ed model, kter\u00fd je od 15. dubna 1988 v ka\u017edodenn\u00edm provozu. Zm\u011bnil se pouze typ v\u00fdpo\u010detn\u00ed techniky. Teorii vytvo\u0159enou pro tento model podal jubilant jako doktorskou dizerta\u010dn\u00ed pr\u00e1ci, kterou obh\u00e1jil 28. 3. 1991. T\u00fd\u017e den byl p\u0159ed v\u011bdeckou radou MFF UK \u0159\u00e1dn\u011b habilitov\u00e1n v oboru meteorologie, co\u017e u n\u011bkter\u00fdch spolupracovn\u00edk\u016f vyvolalo jist\u00e9 p\u0159ekvapen\u00ed, proto\u017ee jubilant vystudoval matematiku.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Ze spolupr\u00e1ce \u010cHM\u00da a M\u00e9t\u00e9o France vyplynuly pro doc. Ba\u0165ku dv\u011b dlouhodob\u00e9 st\u00e1\u017ee v Toulouse. Pro model ARPE\u00adGE\/ALADIN \u0159e\u0161il \u00falohu biperiodizace pro pou\u017eit\u00ed diskr\u00e9tn\u00ed Fourierovy transformace. V roce 1992 byl pov\u011b\u0159en funkc\u00ed mezin\u00e1rodn\u00edho koordin\u00e1tora pro \u0161kolen\u00ed doktorand\u016f pracuj\u00ed\u00adc\u00edch v r\u00e1mci stipendia v M\u00e9t\u00e9o France.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Doc. Ba\u0165ka je mil\u00fd spole\u010dn\u00edk, klidn\u00fd (n\u011bkdy a\u017e p\u0159\u00edli\u0161), usm\u011bvav\u00fd a kamar\u00e1dsk\u00fd. Po rodi\u010d\u00edch zd\u011bdil hudebn\u00ed nad\u00e1n\u00ed, je v\u00fdborn\u00fd pianista a milovn\u00edk v\u00e1\u017en\u00e9 hudby. I kdy\u017e na prvn\u00ed pohled na to nevypad\u00e1, je velk\u00fd sportovec. Ly\u017euje, zbo\u017e\u0148uje horsk\u00e1 kola, plave. Je tak\u00e9 v\u00e1\u0161niv\u00fdm zahr\u00e1dk\u00e1\u0159em. Vzru\u0161uje ho modern\u00ed technika, sh\u00e1n\u00ed prospekty, studuje p\u0159\u00edslu\u0161nou lite\u00adraturu.
