Po maturit\u011b studoval v letech 1958-1963 na Matematicko-fyzik\u00e1ln\u00ed fakult\u011b Univerzity Karlovy specializaci meteorologie a klimatologie. Inklinoval ke klimatologii, z n\u00ed\u017e pod veden\u00edm RNDr. Franti\u0161ka Reina, CSc. (1929-1981) vypracoval diplomovou pr\u00e1ci na t\u00e9ma \u201ePodm\u00ednky v\u00fdskytu r\u016fzn\u00fdch typ\u016f mezn\u00ed vrstvy atmosf\u00e9ry v pr\u016fmyslov\u00e9 oblasti severoz\u00e1padn\u00edch \u010cech\u201c; zapadalo do v\u00fdzkumn\u00fdch \u00fakol\u016f \u00dastavu fyziky atmosf\u00e9ry \u010cSAV. Ten se stal tak\u00e9 prvn\u00edm jubilantov\u00fdm pracovi\u0161t\u011bm. V odd\u011blen\u00ed mezn\u00ed vrstvy atmosf\u00e9ry se zab\u00fdval problematikou podneb\u00ed severoz\u00e1padn\u00edch \u010cech ve vztahu ke zne\u010di\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed ovzdu\u0161\u00ed a z\u00edskal pozorovatelskou praxi na meteorologick\u00fdch observato\u0159\u00edch \u00daFA \u010cSAV na Mile\u0161ovce a v Kopistech u Mostu.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Z rodinn\u00fdch d\u016fvod\u016f v roce 1969 zm\u011bnil m\u00edsto i bydli\u0161t\u011b. V Brn\u011b byl p\u0159ijat do Geografick\u00e9ho \u00fastavu \u010cSAV jako redaktor intern\u00edch tisk\u016f a teprve pozd\u011bji se mohl zapojit do v\u00fdzkumu. P\u016fsobil postupn\u011b v odd\u011blen\u00ed Rady vz\u00e1jemn\u00e9 hospod\u00e1\u0159sk\u00e9 pomoci, odd\u011blen\u00ed fyzick\u00e9 geografie a v laborato\u0159i pro region\u00e1ln\u00ed v\u00fdzkum \u017eivotn\u00edho prost\u0159ed\u00ed. Po zru\u0161en\u00ed \u00fastavu v roce 1993 se stal v\u011bdeck\u00fdm pracovn\u00edkem odd\u011blen\u00ed geografie \u017eivotn\u00edho prost\u0159ed\u00ed v Brn\u011b, kter\u00e9 je sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed \u00dastavu geoniky AV \u010cR se s\u00eddlem v Ostrav\u011b. Je \u010dlenem jeho v\u011bdeck\u00e9 rady a p\u0159edsedou redak\u010dn\u00ed rady mezin\u00e1rodn\u00edho \u010dasopisu Moravian Geographical Reports, kter\u00fd \u00fastav od roku 1993 vyd\u00e1v\u00e1.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Dr. Munzar se vypracoval na specialistu v ot\u00e1zk\u00e1ch antropogenn\u00edho vlivu na klima a mezoklima m\u011bstsk\u00fdch a pr\u016fmyslov\u00fdch aglomerac\u00ed. D\u016fkazem jsou jeho studie z oblasti Severo\u010desk\u00e9ho hn\u011bdouheln\u00e9ho rev\u00edru, nap\u0159. [5, 9, 11], Ostravska, nap\u0159. [13, 15, 16], hodnocen\u00ed klimatick\u00e9ho potenci\u00e1lu krajinn\u00fdch celk\u016f (Liberecko, Teplicko, ji\u017en\u00ed Morava), anal\u00fdzy podneb\u00ed Brna \u010di l\u00e1zn\u00ed Luha\u010dovice. Oblast\u00ed se siln\u011b zne\u010di\u0161t\u011bn\u00fdm ovzdu\u0161\u00edm se t\u00fdkala i jeho kandid\u00e1tsk\u00e1 dizerta\u010dn\u00ed pr\u00e1ce z geografie Antropogenn\u00ed vlivy na po\u010das\u00ed a podneb\u00ed Ostravska a Mostecka z roku 1977.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Z p\u0159ipojen\u00e9ho v\u00fdb\u011bru publikac\u00ed, je\u017e vych\u00e1zely tak\u00e9 v angli\u010dtin\u011b nebo n\u011bm\u010din\u011b, a mnoh\u00e9 v zahrani\u010d\u00ed, je p\u0159es pestrost zpracovan\u00fdch t\u00e9mat z\u0159eteln\u00fd jeden spole\u010dn\u00fd rys. Je j\u00edm autor\u016fv trval\u00fd z\u00e1jem o historickou problematiku, kter\u00fd se t\u00e1hne cel\u00fdm jeho rozs\u00e1hl\u00fdm d\u00edlem. (Pozn\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed minulosti v\u00e1bilo jubilanta ji\u017e p\u0159ed maturitou, tak\u017ee si k n\u00ed jako voliteln\u00fd p\u0159edm\u011bt vybral pr\u00e1v\u011b d\u011bjepis, a za vysoko\u0161kolsk\u00fdch studi\u00ed ho p\u0159ivedlo i k pr\u016fvodcovstv\u00ed Prahou.) Proto ve v\u00fdzkumu s \u00fasp\u011bchem uplat\u0148uje zvl\u00e1\u0161t\u011b po roce 1989 historick\u00fd aspekt.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Jeho historizuj\u00edc\u00ed studie jsou n\u011bkolika druh\u016f. Pat\u0159\u00ed k nim \u017eivotopisy osobnost\u00ed a rozbory jejich p\u0159\u00ednosu pro meteorologick\u00e9 pozn\u00e1n\u00ed, nap\u0159. [3, 6, 22, 50, 59, 64, 69], i v\u00fdsledky zdlouhav\u00fdch p\u00e1tr\u00e1n\u00ed v tuzemsk\u00fdch a zahrani\u010dn\u00edch archivech po stop\u00e1ch star\u00fdch meteorologick\u00fdch pozorov\u00e1n\u00ed a jejich autorech, nap\u0159. [54, 57, 60, 62, 65]. Tato studia p\u0159isp\u011bla k rekonstrukci st\u0159edoevropsk\u00e9ho podneb\u00ed zvl\u00e1\u0161t\u011b v 16.-18. stolet\u00ed. Zd\u016fraz\u0148uji, \u017ee Munzara problematika historick\u00e9ho klimatu a jeho zm\u011bn zaj\u00edmala d\u0159\u00edve, ne\u017e se stala p\u0159edm\u011btem obecn\u011bj\u0161\u00edho, i konjuktur\u00e1ln\u00edho z\u00e1jmu; nem\u011bl v\u0161ak mo\u017enost se j\u00ed tehdy systematicky zab\u00fdvat.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Jubilant si byl v\u011bdom toho, \u017ee zhodnocen\u00ed d\u00edla postav na\u0161\u00ed meteorologie se neobejde bez \u00fapln\u00fdch a p\u0159esn\u00fdch bibliografi\u00ed, a proto s\u00e1m n\u011bkter\u00e9 sestavoval, dopl\u0148oval a opravoval, nap\u0159. [68]. N\u00e1ro\u010dn\u00e9 nebylo jen seps\u00e1n\u00ed publikac\u00ed star\u00fdch autor\u016f, ale i sou\u010dasn\u00edk\u016f, nap\u0159. F. Reina. N\u011bkter\u00e9 Munzarovy \u010dl\u00e1nky pojedn\u00e1vaj\u00ed o v\u00fdzna\u010dn\u00fdch momentech ve v\u00fdvoji \u010desk\u00e9 meteorologie, jako bylo prvn\u00ed vyd\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed p\u0159edpov\u011bd\u00ed po\u010das\u00ed pro roln\u00edky p\u0159\u00edmo na pole [19], vyu\u017eit\u00ed po\u010d\u00edtac\u00edch stroj\u016f ke klimatologick\u00e9mu zpracov\u00e1n\u00ed [20], meteorologick\u00e9 zabezpe\u010dov\u00e1n\u00ed leteck\u00fdch akc\u00ed [31, 35], jin\u00e9 se v\u011bnuj\u00ed klimatick\u00fdm rekord\u016fm [8, 28], terminologick\u00fdm ot\u00e1zk\u00e1m [30] a od 90. let v\u00edcem\u00e9n\u011b soustavn\u011b nebezpe\u010dn\u00fdm meteorologick\u00fdm a hydrologick\u00fdm jev\u016fm, jako jsou tromby [45], tuh\u00e9 zimy [73] a historick\u00e9 povodn\u011b v \u010desk\u00fdch zem\u00edch, nap\u0159. [67, 74].<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Zvl\u00e1\u0161tn\u00ed jubilantovou z\u00e1libou je zji\u0161\u0165ov\u00e1n\u00ed meteorologick\u00fdch okolnost\u00ed historick\u00fdch ud\u00e1lost\u00ed, t\u0159eba bitvy u Slavkova v roce 1805 nebo Mozartova poh\u0159bu. Jde o \u010dinnost t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 detektivn\u00ed, proto\u017ee zpravidla nejsou k dispozici pot\u0159ebn\u00e9 meteorologick\u00e9 \u00fadaje. Proto kn\u00ed\u017eku s touto tematikou a p\u0159\u00edslu\u0161ej\u00edc\u00ed k literatu\u0159e faktu nazval \u201eMeteorologie skoro detektivn\u00ed\u201c [39]. Z\u00edskala Cenu \u010cesk\u00e9ho liter\u00e1rn\u00edho fondu stejn\u011b jako star\u0161\u00ed kn\u00ed\u017eka \u201eMedardova k\u00e1p\u011b aneb pranostiky o\u010dima meteorologa\u201c [36], kter\u00e1 ji\u017e vy\u0161la ve t\u0159ech vyd\u00e1n\u00edch. Cena nakladatelstv\u00ed Mlad\u00e1 fronta byla ud\u011blena \u201eMal\u00e9mu pr\u016fvodci meteorologi\u00ed\u201c [36], kter\u00fd je u\u017eite\u010dnou pom\u016fckou v\u0161em z\u00e1jemc\u016fm o po\u010das\u00ed a podneb\u00ed. Uveden\u00e1 ocen\u011bn\u00ed sv\u011bd\u010d\u00ed o tom, \u017ee J. Munzar m\u00e1 schopnost zda\u0159ile popularizovat v\u011bdu, \u017ee p\u0159i psan\u00ed mysl\u00ed na \u010dten\u00e1\u0159e, p\u00ed\u0161e poutav\u011b a srozumiteln\u011b. Proto mu v roce 1996 byla ud\u011blena i Cena AV \u010cR za popularizaci.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">P\u0159esto si jubilant ze sv\u00e9ho liter\u00e1rn\u00edho d\u00edla asi nejv\u00edce cen\u00ed redak\u010dn\u00edho a autorsk\u00e9ho pod\u00edlu na Meteorologick\u00e9m slovn\u00edku v\u00fdkladov\u00e9m a terminologick\u00e9m [43], kter\u00fd pat\u0159\u00ed k profilov\u00fdm spis\u016fm \u010ds. meteorologie. Nediv\u00edm se tomu nejen vzhledem k dobr\u00e9 kvalit\u011b slovn\u00edku, n\u00fdbr\u017e i proto, \u017ee v\u00edm, kolik \u00fasil\u00ed, \u010dasu a znalost\u00ed mu po sedm let v\u011bnoval. Uplatnil v n\u011bm i velk\u00e9 redaktorsk\u00e9 zku\u0161enosti a v\u00fdklady hesel iniciativn\u011b obohatil o \u010detn\u00e9 historick\u00e9 dopl\u0148ky (jm\u00e9na a \u017eivotopisn\u00e1 data autor\u016f, objev\u016f apod.), kter\u00e9 by \u010dten\u00e1\u0159i jinde obt\u00ed\u017en\u011b hledali.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">RNDr. Jan Munzar, CSc., je poctiv\u00fd badatel, piln\u00fd a precizn\u00ed v\u011bdeck\u00fd pracovn\u00edk. Nav\u00edc je velmi slu\u0161n\u00fd \u010dlov\u011bk, a to je hodn\u011b.
